My father was always a big believer in the solunar tables. He planned fishing trips around them. Also, we had a barometer and it was always checked before fishing. How do the readers of this site feel about these 2 items? I believe in the barometer but don't have enough fishing time in to have an opinion on the solunar tables. Has anyone really watched them and in your opinion are they accurate? Bob
well I use Solunar tables all the time, I don't think they work, I go on times when the fishing could be at 20% success rate and catch a bunch of fish and go on a 90% success rate day and catch nothing, but sometimes they are right, it all depends on weather for me. If it's hot, i'll use plastic crawdads at the bottom with a small weight because the surface water is usually warmer so the fish are deeper, or at least the bigger ones. if it's a cooler day, I'll fish on the suface or use spinners. If it's raining, I usually don't go fishing, but when I do, plastic worms work best.
But I believe that it's all about the water temp., depth, temperature of the water, and humidity, if you know all of these, you are guaranteed to be able to find good fish, if you know what all of it means.
