I wanted to tell about one of my catfishing trips, It was just last night.
I was at lake pomme de terre, I was using one of my big ocean rods, it was an ulra heavy pole with a big ocean reel with 90 pound line. I was using a ball of stink bait on a sponged hook, I was using a bell on my pole because I was sitting at camp.
I was about to eat dinner and my bell starting ringing, I grabbed the flash light and ran to my pole, I set the really hard and tightened my drag. My line kept going out and I couldn't tighten my drag anymore or my pole would break, and yet, my line was comming out of my reel so fast. I had a huge fish on the hook, I'm not sure if it was a big cat or what it was, but it just kept taking my line and after about 10 minutes of fighting it, the fish spooled me and I ran out of line and my line snapped, I had 430 yards of line and it broke at the reel, so I know the fish I had was big and now it has a bunch of line hanging from it.
So, what do you have to tell about catfishing?

Well,LOZ(lake of the ozarks) is on it's way up to normal pool and the fish are biting pretty good.I have been catching some blues around here from the bank. So far I haven't been out in the boat much this year, I am waiting on the water to get up to normal then I will fish from the boat full time.So far I have caught several blues in the 5-6# range and a couple in the 10-12# range.

I love to go fishing for catfish, that is about the only type of fish I will eat. I haven't been out in the boat yet this year, so I haven't caught any yet, but my man is out now, and last report I got, he had a keeper, said it was a catfish, but I don't know if it is a flathead, chanal,or a bluecat, I will find out in the morning, when he gets home.
